"Botrytis-affected dessert wines are a relative rarity in Central Otago due to dry weather during the ripening period. However, a wet spell in March did produce some botrytis in the pinot gris grapes that were hand-harvested with care on April 12. Pure, delicately luscious and very appealing wine with classic pear flavours and a hint of honey and spice. Good acidity prevents any suggestion of cloying. A great aperitif or a match for moderately sweet desserts."
