“This is the first vintage that Mt Difficulty has made a botrytised riesling, which indicates that it was an unusually wet season in Central Otago. This is a lateharvested riesling with strong, concentrated apricot, mineral and citrus flavours plus a suggestion of honey, although botrytis influence takes a back seat to varietal fruit flavours. A powerful expression of variety and place. Beautifully balanced wine that should get even more interesting with further bottle-age.”
